A dental implant has the structure of a natural tooth. Artificial root forms are surgically implanted in your jawbone, and your dentures are secured to them.

Usually, four to eight standard implants are used to secure your dentures. Below are some facts about snap-on dentures.
- Although they are not as stable as four to eight implants, they are a more affordable option because only two implants are used.
- After your jawbone heals and fuses to the implants, dentures are attached to them.
- The stability makes them feel more like your natural teeth. And it will be easier to speak and eat with them.
- Implants stimulate jawbone and help prevent bone shrinkage, which occurs when all of your teeth are missing.

Mini implants are 1/3 the diameter of standard implant fixtures and about half the cost. As few as two implants can be used to anchor your dentures, but more of them will increase the stability of your dentures. Although mini implants will prevent your dentures from dislodging, they don’t provide the same stability as standard fixtures.
